| Current Health: | Anthony suffers from combat stress, chronic back and hip pain, hearing loss, and sinus and skin conditions caused by exposure to environmental hazards. |
| Operation: | Iraqi Freedom |
| Military Assignment: | 172nd Stryker Brigade Cobmat Team (Infantry) |
| Immediate Family: | Wife and young son |
| Personal Interests: | Love family activates like watching movies together and anything outdoors such as camping, fishing, etc. |
| Current Situation: |
Anthony returned from Iraq in late November 2006 and married the next month. Their son was born in October 2007. His wife's pregnancy was marred by major medical problems and she was hospitalized for over five months. During this time Anthony "put off" dealing with his own health problems and incurred non-reimbursed medical expenses that created growing financial difficulties. In January 2008 Anthony was assigned to the Army Wounded Warrior Program at Fort Meade Maryland where he began treatments for his own medical problems. The medical board found Anthony to be 60% disabled and granted him a medical retirement in February 2009. Anthony has filed a claim with the VA for service-connected compensation and expects this income to start in 4 to 6 months. In the meantime, his wife cannot work because of her health and their living expenses exceed their Army retirement income. |
