Current Situation: Arlene's total income was reduced from over $5000 to $1400 a month when she left the Army in April 2010. She started a new job as a custom officer in June and will take advantage of the GI Bill beginning in July. She has filed a disability claim with the Veterans Administration but does not expect a ruling for at least 6 months. In the meantime, she needed help to pay rent and avoid an eviction. Rebuild Hope has provided Arlene a no-interest loan to be repaid in a few months.
