| Current Situation: | "Carl was injured in an accident while serving in Iraq and witnessed the deaths of fellow soldiers during combat in southern Baghdad. He currently receives on-going physical therapy at a local VA clinic and treatment for mental health problems at a VA veterans center. Carl is divorced and cares for his two sons and two daughters.
He currently receives $1264 in monthly service-connected income from the Veterans Administration and has submitted a claim for an increase in his rating from 60%. He also receives $900 a month in social security disability income. Carl struggles to pay for food and clothing for his children and his car recently broke down. He carries no personal debt of any kind. Rebuild Hope intends to help Carl pay for basic living expenses while he waits for the VA to rule on his outstanding claim." |
