Army SGT Chelsea Black (Veteran)

SGT Black served in an immediate danger zone in Ramadi, Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom and for the first 2 months she was there, it was considered the most dangerous place to be in the world. Her injuries are not a result of one specific incident, but from exposure to the various IED blasts sustained in the environment.

Service-Connected Disability: TBI, PTSD, degenerative arthritis of the spine

Last Military Assignment: 501st Military Police Company Wiesbaden Germany
Immediate Family: New born daughter
Personal Interests: Raising my daughter, being still, living a quiet and normal life as a civilian, as normal as possible
Current Situation:

Chelsea is currently rated 80% disabled for TBI and PTSD and often feels depressed because she is unable to do things that once were easy. Chelsea just had a baby and moved into an apartment. She was homeless about 10 months ago and afraid of it happening again. Chelsea has received some financial assistance from the 9-11 HelpAmerica Foundation and has applied for Social Security. In the interim she is struggling to pay the most basic living expenses.
