"In December 2008 - one and a half years after his honorable discharge from the Army, Cristo received an 80% service-connected disability rating from the VA. In July 2009, he finally committed himself to a treatment program for combat stress, a bipolar disorder and a persistent painful nerve injury that occurred during an appendectomy. And for the first time, Cristo and his wife are now optimistically looking forward to a brighter future for their young family."
