Daniel was initially injured during naval operations that guarded Iraqi offshore oil fields. After being discharged from the Navy he was reactivated in 2010 and released again in 2011.

| Current Situation: | After being recalled to active duty and completing special training for a year-long assignment in Iraq, the program was abruptly terminated, and Daniel was put back on Reserve status in 2011. He returned to San Diego with no place to stay, no job, and no money. With no stable address it was hard for him to find a job and he was going to college dealing with his medical problems. Daniel needs help to rent a small apartment while he continues to wait for his merited disability income to start. |
