Current Situation:

Kim was injured while on a journalist assignment outside of Bagram, Afghanistan. Her husband abandoned the family upon her return from her recovery in Landstuhl, Germany. She is facing surgeries on both arms and is receiving treatment for her mental health. Kim receives $693 a month in Social Secuity and has used every bit of her savings to stay afloat until now. She desperately needs help with transportation, rent, power and food as she waits for the VA to start paying her merited service-connected disability compensation. Kim will start college this spring using the GI Bill.
