Who you can help - the Guerra Family

Marine Corporal Kingsley Guerra (Veteran)

Marine infantryman Cpl Guerra was deployed twice in Iraq (Muhammadiyah and Fallujah) where he and his team engaged in almost daily firefights with insurgents while regulary dealing with mortor fire and roadside improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Home: Miami, FL
Current Health: Kingsley suffers from PTSD, a crooked spinal cord, a herniated spinal disk, and tinnitus.
Operation: Iraqi Freedom (two tours)
Military Assignment: USMC 2nd Battalion/2nd Marines Company Infantrymen
Immediate Family: Wife and young daughter
Personal Interests: Reading and time with family.
Current Situation: Kingsley continues to receive on-going care for his injuries and psychological problems with the hope that many of his condition might improve over a long treatment period. In the meantime, he cannot hold a job and receives only $900 a month in service-connected disability compensation from the Veterans Administration. He is going to school and submitted an application for GI Bill benefits five months ago. Unfortunately, the claims process is backlogged and several more months will likely pass before he receives initial assistance. Kingsley has relied on family members and credit cards to pay rent, car insurance, and groceries but has exhausted these sources. Any help that will reduce his family's financial difficulties will greatly be appreciated.

Current Requests: Need: $750 Rent Received: $750 Request Fulfilled (Feb 2010)
