Specialist Robert Maples (Veteran)
"Robert was diagnosed with PTSD while serving in Iraq and suffers from a traumatic brain injury (TBI) after being exposed to multiple combat incidents while performing Convoy Security Missions. "
| Home: | Middletown, Ohio |
| Injury: | PTSD and traumatic brain injury |
| Operation: | Iraqi Freedom |
| Military Assignment: | 324th Military Police Company Ohio Army National Guard |
| Immediate Family: | Wife, one son, and a daughter |
| Personal Interests: | Robert likes swimming, exercise, collecting Hot Wheel Cars, and watching movies. |
| Current Situation: | Robert's PTSD and TBI have greatly impacted his and his family's lives. He can no longer work and his need for constant care at home and ongoing outpatient medical treatments have made it impossible for his wife Geri to hold a job. Robert suffers from severe memory loss, hearing loss, and vision loss and he experiences severe headaches almost daily. Robert must rely on a Palm Pilot to remind him of his daily tasks. Robert and Geri continue to fight the VA for an increase in his disability rating and service-connected compensation which they view do not truly reflect his actual medical condition. |
