"Travis has struggled to provide for his family of nine since he was discharged from the military in 2006.
| Home: | Pitts, Georgia |
| Medical Condition:: | Travis suffers from chronic back and knee injuries and combat stress. |
| Operation: | Iraqi Freedom |
| Military Assignment: | 2nd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment |
| Immediate Family: | Wife and seven kids (the oldest is 16) |
| Personal Interests: | Lifting weights, listening to music, playing video games, watching movies and just fiddling around with things to keep my mind free. |
| Current Situation: | After 8 years of military service and serving both in Bosnia and Iraq, Travis was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard in May 2006. He filed a claim for service-connected compensation with the Veterans Administration in August 2008 and received a 50% disability rating six months later in February 2009. Travis is employed full-time but is struggling to support a wife, himself and seven children. He must also repay loans that grew when he was not working and waiting for the VA to rule on his service-connected disability claim. In 2009 The Coalition to Salute America's Heroes Foundation, The 9/11HelpAmerica Foundation and Rebuild Hope are all helping the Felton family of nine repay debt and pay for basic living expenses. |
